Image Compressor Tool

This online Image Compressor Tool employs a clever combination of the best optimization and lossy compression algorithms to reduce JPEG, GIF, and PNG images to their smallest possible size while maintaining the required level of quality.
You can upload up to 20 images. Wait for the compression to complete. To adjust the quality, click one of the thumbnails in the queue. Use the slider to adjust the compression level, and the mouse/gestures to compare images.

Apply Image Compression

In terms of digital files, compression is the process of encoding information with fewer bits than the original file. Simply put, it means resizing a large file into a smaller one.

There are two kinds of compression: lossless and lossy. Lossless compression occurs when the compression tool removes empty, unnecessary, or duplicated bits from the original file. This produces a smaller file with the exact same quality as the original. Lossy compression occurs when the compressor removes excessive or unimportant bits from the original file. This results in a smaller file, but at a lower quality. With lossy compression, the size of the final file is determined by the amount of quality loss you are willing to accept.

Why do you want to compress images?

Depending on the source of an image, the file size may be large. A JPG from a professional DSLR camera, for example, could take up dozens of megabytes. Depending on your needs, this may be too large. Compressing this image would be extremely useful.

Likewise, you may have large images on your phone. These images may be taking up a lot of hard drive space and preventing you from taking new photos. Compressing them could free up additional internal storage, resolving this issue.
How does an image compressor work?

To reduce image file sizes, our tool employs lossy compression. It supports three types of files: PNG, JPG/JPEG, and GIF. This system intelligently analyzes uploaded images and reduces them to the smallest possible file size without compromising overall quality.

To begin, upload the images you want to compress. You can upload up to 20 images at once and use any file type you want. In other words, you don’t have to upload JPGs first and then wait for PNGs. Our server can automatically separate the files for you.

First, select the “Upload Files” button and navigate to your images. Once uploaded, you’ll see thumbnails for all of your images as they arrive in the queue. You will be able to monitor their progress in real time as our server analyzes them.

As previously stated, our server will determine the optimal compression rate to reduce file size without significantly reducing quality. However, you can control the amount of compression. Tap the thumbnail of the image you want to edit. Now, adjust the quality slider until you find the ideal file size/quality setting. When you’re finished, click the “APPLY” button and then repeat the process with the next image.

When you are satisfied with the current batch, click the “DOWNLOAD ALL” button. This will download a ZIP file containing all of your compressed images. If you don’t need them all, you can download them individually by clicking the “DOWNLOAD” button under each thumbnail.

Ready for another batch? Hit the “CLEAR QUEUE” button to restart. This tool can be used as many times as needed for free.

Is it safe to compress images?

There is no reason to be concerned about the safety of our free service. Your original files will remain intact on your system, so if you are dissatisfied with your compressed files, simply try again. Furthermore, our unmanned system deletes all data after one hour, so you do not have to worry about the security of your information.
