Defend, educate and sustain the fundamental rights of students by transforming the culture that perpetuates harassment and discrimination in all its forms at Pakistan’s colleges and universities. We envision an Ideal environment where all students have the freedom to move through campus and public space, participate in academic life, and reach their full potential.
If you are a student of any university and affected by sexual misconduct, bullying, or harassment, we are able to provide support and advice.
Sexual Violence at college campuses is extremely widespread in Pakistan. There is a significant imbalance of power in colleges, the teachers and administrative staff can adversely affect the student’s future by lowering their grades and taking away extra-curricular opportunities from them. This makes students particularly vulnerable to sexual harassment. Sexual violence that is perpetrated by students against other students is also prevalent.
Pakistan currently has the largest percentage of young people, 64pc of the total population is below the age of 30 while 29pc is between the ages of 15 and 29 years. It is one of the youngest countries in the world and the second youngest in the South Asian region after Afghanistan. This “youth bulge” provides unique challenges as well as opportunities for the country’s social and economic progress.
