Over 3,000 people provided access to clean drinking water
A lack of access to clean drinking water is one of the most pressing challenges currently facing the people of Pakistan. Even where water is available, it is often contaminated, posing serious health risks to those who rely on it.
Based on various feasibility studies, the water facilities were installed in central locations to ensure the maximum number of people could benefit from them at all times. To further support those involved in kitchen gardening, special care was taken to place these water sources as close as possible to their homes and huts.
Tharparkar is notorious for its frequent droughts and natural calamities, with minimal, if any, long-term intervention at the state level to address these challenges. Currently, the region is grappling with an even more severe drought, leading to significant loss of life and resources at an alarming rate.
