The Asia Foundation Leadership Program 2025 is a fully financed leadership program implemented in the United States. The initiative Lead NeXT, initiated by The Asia Foundation, establishes a vibrant network of young leaders from Asia and the US. Its fundamental objective is to foster their growth, influence, and capacity to address the most pressing issues of our day. The Lead NeXT program provides aspiring leaders from all sectors and cultures with opportunities to engage with robust global networks, get a wide array of experiences, and develop leadership skills that will enable them to effectively change the future. Maximizing the creativity and energy of rising leaders is of utmost importance.
Throughout the Leadership Training Intensive program, participants will convene sessions one to three times per week for a duration of several weeks in order to enhance their skills in social change leadership. Within this worldwide youth leadership program, participants will acquire strategies for enhancing influence, self-awareness, and public speaking skills, all while delving into how their unique experiences shape their leadership capabilities. The primary emphasis of the rigorous training is on the skills of communication and collaboration.
Throughout this leadership program designed for international students, there will be four monthly virtual sessions led by global experts. These lectures will provide participants with insights into the real-world experiences of leaders in the US and Asia who are actively tackling a range of contemporary challenges. Fellows will acquire enduring knowledge, tools, and frameworks of the ecosystems and policies that influence future outcomes. Scholars will analyze intricate matters of societal transformation in Asia and the United States, exchanging their collective experiences.
There will be a Global Leaders Summit in USA (San Francisco Bay Area) in July 2025. Fellows will deepen and enhance their knowledge through critical discussions, ongoing leadership training, and resources to confront the concerns of 21st century. During this worldwide youth summit, students will also be taught to state-of-the-art approaches and practical techniques for creative leadership. Professional mentors are allocated to fellows according to their areas of interest.

Eligibility Criteria for Asia Foundation Leadership Program in USA:
Applicants applying must:
- Be between 18-25 years old.
- Be a resident or citizen of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pacific Islands, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam and the United States.
- Fully communicate in English language.
- Be able to attend all the morning and evening sessions as these will be conducted across different time zones throughout the world.
- Attend virtual sessions of around 2 hours per month.
- Be full time committed to the whole Summit.
- Should have interest in cross-cultural exchange.
